Mehr olympische Unterstützung für's Fallschirmspringen

Ein bedeutender Vertrag wurde am Freitag, den 27. Oktober 2000, im neuen Grimaldi Forum Congress Center in Monte Carlo unterzeichnet, der finanzielle, logistische und moralische Unterstützung des Internationalen Olympischen Komittes (IOC) für die World Games zusichert.
 
Die World Games sind eine Multi-Sport Veranstaltung, die verschiedene Sportarten zusammenbringen, unter anderem auch Fallschirmspringen, und die vom IOC zwar anerkannt, aber noch nicht ins Programm der Olympischen Spiele aufgenommen wurden. British Record Attempts

Simon Ward and Darryl Moran are considering upping the stakes in the European record for largest formation. Sward said "We're just toying with the idea of a record with a twist, more of a challenge with the French and maybe a third team. It'll still be the largest formation but if we go for it, I suspect we'll go overseas but keep it British. It would likely be in October 2001".
 
Simon added that the team had other issues to consider, "We would definitely like BPA support and will be looking for sponsorship. We also need to know that skydivers are prepared to get involved again. We've got the planes, the location, the facilities and the weather, but at the end of the day, it's all down to the jumpers and the bigger the formation, the more you need to rely on the good guys, especially if we challenge others."
 
Both Darryl and Simon were involved in the World Team 282 world record in Thailand after Brit100 and it's rumored that other members of the new team were also there.

Neuer SOS Rekord

Die Oldies haben es wieder mal geschafft! Eine Gruppe von 60- bis 74-jährigen Springern hat den bisherigen SOS (Skydivers Over Sixty) Rekord gebrochen und ist am 23. September über Skydive Elsinore in Kalifornien, USA, eine 22er Formation geflogen. Der Rekordsprung war die zweite 22er Formation, die an diesem Tage geschafft wurde, aber die erste wurde nicht die geforderten drei Sekunden lang gehalten.
 
Der Rekordsprung wurde "Jumpn Judy's SOS Record Skydive" getauft und Judy Bieloh gewidmet, die eine Woche zuvor bei einem Sprungunfall ums Leben gekommen war. Judy war die einzige Frau, die an vorherigen SOS Rekorden beteiligt war, und sie wollte auch bei dem neusten Versuch dabei sein.

BLiNC hat auch eine neue CD-ROM für PC und Mac herausgebracht. Sie enthält zehn längere BASE-Jumping Videos im MPEG Format und in hoher Auflösung....eine ganz neue Art, Videos anzusehen.

Wechsel beim Damen-4er Remscheid-Parat

Nach dem Achtungserfolg auf der DM in Gera (8,13 Pkt, 11. Platz) haben die Remscheid-Ladies ihren Vierer (Remscheid-Parat) zur Hälfte umgebaut. Ausgeschieden sind Brigitte Schulz-Huether und Angie Gallin, wobei sich Letztere zukünftig ganz der 8er Disziplin widmen möchte, und zwar im "Stromeier-8er" Eight Pack. Genau aus diesem Team wechselt die US-Amerikanerin Cindy Cooper hinüber ins 4er-Geschäft, in dem die Vierte im Damenbunde, Frauke Lympius, schon länger zuhause ist. Weiterhin dabei bleiben Kristina Monsees und Birgit Brakhahn. "Strippenzieher" Klaus Mathies äußerte sich sehr zufrieden über die neue Konstellation, indem er sagte "Die Weichen in Richtung Zukunft sind gestellt!".

Am 21.01.00 wurde in Berlin ein Springerfahrzeug gestohlen, das beladen war mit Fallschirmen, die für die Einlagerung vorgesehen waren. Es handelte sich dabei um folgende Ausrüstungen:
